Reminiscing of TX

This week has been really busy with work. Our new interns started work on Monday so this week Chris and I have been working opposite schedules while we train our new employees Kiera and Adaline. They are doing really well and have caught on pretty fast. Friday night we let the interns experience closing by themselves, while we went to dinner with a good friend from TriangleX Ranch. We had dinner at Neptune's Palace on Pier39. It was delicious and had a terrific view. The sunset was amazing that night. It was so fun to see Dave and reminisce of last summer at the ranch. We have so many fun memories from that place.

After dinner we hung out and watched the sunset and showed Dave and his girlfriend where we work.
Summers in San Francisco are really kinda cold it has felt alot like fall weather. Are any of you familiar with the famous quote, "The coldest winter I ever spent was my summer in San Francisco" by Mark Twain. He obviously didn't ever spend a winter in Logan, but still you get my drift. We have been hearing that the best weather is in September, October and November. Which is great for all the locals cause that's when all the tourists leave. If that is true I think we might be in trouble because it has been so hot lately. Today was the hottest day so far. Looks like summer is finally here.

Exploratorium

A lot of great stuff has been going on this week. I have been trying out a new yoga studio, which I really enjoy. I have also managed to make dinner three times this week and its only Thursday. One of the dinners I made was four cheese ravioli with sausage, at least I told Chris it was sausage. I actually thought was really good. Chris on the other hand informed me he wasn't a fan of the sausage... I wonder if that is because it was actually tofurkey ( a tofu turkey mix stuffed with basil and red peppers). I tried but, there was no fooling him, he knew something was funking about that sausage.

Chris and I also went to salsa on the square. We didn't make it time for the lesson but it was still fun to go and listen to the band and pretend we knew how to salsa down at Union Square.


On our day off we went to the Exploratorium. It is this neat hands on science museum that explores the five senses.

I loved this huge bubble maker.

This reflection mirror was really trippy like watching yourself upside down in 3D.

The Exploratorium turned out to be more for kids but it was still interesting and I am glad we went.

All of the rest of these pictures we took outside around the Exploratorium. It is an amazing building and really pretty scenery.

Swans! I love swans and the china man behind me was feeding them lettuce, they would come eat it right out of his hand.

As we were leaving something extremely odd and random occurred. A lady... completely, I mean entirely... stark... naked appeared. She was just walking around. I had to take a picture of proof of this tale. Not to fear it isn't a frontal, that would be just gross.

Santa Cruz

We have had the most beautiful sunny weather here in San Francisco, so of course on our day off it is foggy. Well we weren't about to let a little fog put a damper on our day so we decided to head south to find warmer weather and some sunshine. We ended up in Santa Cruz.

We checked out the beach, played some games (Chris won a couple stuffed animal toys in the process), rode rides, ate greasy beach food, shopped in the shops, and watched the Cirque Magnifique show.

I loved this silly balancing clowns colorful spandex attire.

After we felt we had experienced enough of the broadwalk, we drove around the cute beach town of Santa Cruz. They have a neat downtown strip with shops and restaurants. We ate at a great little Indian restaurant. Chris was pretty skeptical about it but I really liked it, and he didn't think it was quite as bad as he thought it would be. :) Then we looked around in the shops. To finish the night off we went my new favorite ice cream shop SWIRL. It is delicious! They have several different types of soft serve yogurt and then pretty much any topping you could ever want. All of which you just serve yourself. You can have as much or little as you like. Then you pay by the ounce, when I went up to pay I was thinking this is a lot of ice cream so it will probably be around $6, to my utter amazement it was only $2. Yay!!

Fife Family Fun

I love this picture. We took great pictures in this spot in front of the Golden Gate Bridge and got a family picture which I need my father to send me. My dad had this idea to climb on the gate and lean out and then he said now reach your arm out to the side. I was like ok this is silly. But then I saw the pic and it turned out so fun and cute. Thanks dad for making us go along with your ideas even when they may seem lame.

It was so fun to have my whole family here all at once. It is getting harder now with everyone growing up and having such busy schedules for us all to get together. We introduced my dad and mom to guitar hero one night at our apartment. It was so fun to watch my mom try to play. I was laughing so hard my eyes were watering and my jaw was cramping up.More fun pics at the bay!!

This was at seal rock. We hadn't been out here yet so it was fun to see another part of the city. My parents came here 27 years ago and San Francisco is where my dad proposed to mom after only dating for two weeks. We think they are crazy but obviously when its right its right because they have been married for 26 years.

Chris loved exploring this rock they caught crabs and shell fish, yum!

He really is such a kid at heart. Always wanting me to take his picture and making cheesy grins. I love it!

We had such a great weekend! It was fun to see San Francisco the way my parents do and all the wonderful memories they have here. Thanks Mom and Dad for sharing them with all us kids. It is fun to see where you fell in love and how our family all began! I love you both.
