107

Tonight I uploaded the pictures I had taken through out this past week, and I was surprised to see I had taken 107 pictures.  I think I might need to start going to AA meeting where the AA stands for Ayla Addiction.  Cause I gots a real bad case of it.  We didn't do much this week, but everyday with this little bug seems eventful cause she is just so gosh darn adorable, that in itself is worth documenting.
There was no way I was going to wait for all 107 pictures to upload so I tried to narrow it down the best I could. So here are the best 28 out of the 107 pictures from this past week.
Enjoy!
(tip, if you want to see the pictures bigger click on one and it should display them like a photo album, let me know if that doesn't work for you.)

MONDAY!
We upgraded Ayla from the bassinet to the Big Girl Seat in her Stroller.
 She loves it!

TUESDAY!
Ayla has started sitting in her Bumbo Seat.  Technically this one is a Bebe Pod.  But its the same thing.  She won't sit in there for every long yet, but she is building up her strength and we are starting to see improvement.  She can hold her head up better now and sometimes you can even see her neck!

See you can see her neck in this one.

WEDNESDAY!
We went to story time at Books and Books in Camana Bay.  We went with my friend Emily and her 2 year daughter Kaylign.  There were so many kids there, all ages from baby like Ayla upto about 4 years old.  It was really fun, they read a story and then sing a song and repeat for about 30mins.  Ayla loves stories but I think she was more interested in watching all the other kids.  After storytime we walked around Camana Bay and let Kaylign play in the fountain, then we went to the farmers market.  I got some local produce, including apple bananas (as in the bananas are actually called apple bananas) and papaya.
Aren't these bananas the cutest?  They are so little.
It was a great little outing, we plan to go regularly every Wednesday.

THURSDAY!
Just being cute in her bumbo.
She was having a harder time sitting up straight today. This was her second outfit of the day since the first one got destroyed.  (See previous post here)

FRIDAY!
Bath time.
After her bath I wrapped her up in a towel and was putting lotion on her and she looked so cute, I simply couldn't help myself.

 SATURDAY!
It rained non stop this day.
I was in a bad mood and needed to vent so I wrote this e-mail to my parents.

"Hey Family,   Arg. So today it has rained non stop.  Can you say "torture"?   Chris isn't feeling the best and is getting over a bad cold so he isn't the most helpful right now.  Ayla decided to wake up at 6:30am and she had a major blow out and leaky diaper during the night.  Like drenched through her clothes, blanket and our sheets.  Yes we are still co-sleeping with her.  It is just so much easier that way.  Anyway, I decided it would be best to bathe her, even though I had just bathed her last night.  Then I striped off the sheets and put them in the wash.   We didn't go out for our morning walk and have all been couped up in the house all day.  Which makes me feel cranky, Zuri feel hyper, and I don't think it really affects Ayla and Chris all that much.  Anyway, I made breakfast and cleaned up, put Ayla down for a nap. Then I took a nap also.  Then made the bed again with clean sheets.  Ayla wakes up and so I feed her.  Chris goes to deliver groceries for a family in our branch.  I am playing with Ayla on the bed and Zuri is whining cause she wants to get on the bed also, so I lift her on.  Then the next thing I know Zuri pees on our bed!!!  I couldn't believe it!!  The sheets I had just washed that same day, that had only bed on the bed for less than an hour she decides to pee on them.  This is the first time she has peed on our bed.  Arg.  I was so mad!  I know she knows better,  but I also know it was probably because we hadn't taken her outside all day because of the rain.  Yes she has her pee pad and it is still clean and dry.  I wish I could say the same for my sheets.  But life goes on.   Well maybe not, Chris just started reading this e-mail and was super offended that I said he wasn't being helpful.  Haha.  SO sensitive.  He is helpful don't get me wrong, it is just that while he has been sick, we haven't wanted him to get Ayla sick so he hasn't helped out as much as he usually does.  Such a crappy day!!   I mean it is Saturday for crying out loud it should be freaking sunny like it is everyday of the week, so we could go to the beach.  Of all days it has to be today when the rain is never ending.  Don't you all feel so sorry for me.  Because you should.  I am done venting now. Love you all!!"

When I wrote about playing with Ayla on our bed, I took these pictures.
she looked so small in our big king size bed

Oh man, check out that glare.  Luckily this wasn't really a glare but a shot that caught her mid blink.   But I can see it now.  The annoyed "mom your so dumb glare."  Hopefully that wont be for a few years down the road.
This was the point when Zuri was whining and I let her on the bed.

 They were being so cute.
Then I was worried Ayla was getting cold so I took her to go get some warmer clothes on and when I come back. There was a giant pee mark.  So frustrating!
Chris got home a few minutes later and told me to go take Zuri for a walk and he would watch Ayla and wash the sheets.  So I took Zuri for a walk in the rain.  By this point it was only a light drizzle and really wasn't to bad.  We both needed to get out of the house.  When we got back I bathed Zuri, fed Ayla and went for a quick dip in the pool.  Yes it was still raining.  It was kind of cold. but still felt good and refreshing. Then I took a hot shower put Ayla to bed and Chris and I watched the movie War Horse.  Now that is a good movie.  And that was our non eventful, but still eventful Saturday.

SUNDAY!
Ayla all ready for church!
She was such a good girl at church today.  We were all able to stay for all three meetings.  I had to go change her poopy diaper during Sunday school, and then go feed her during third hour, but we made it through all 3 hours without a crying fit, without a major wardrobe mishap, and without needing to go home early. So that is a big improvement.

The End!

Back Tickles

Our little munchkin is ticklish.  It is so fun!  She loves having her back tickled and it makes tummy time last a little while longer.  I think it is so adorable when she squirms and bends her torso away from the tickles.  My favorite is when I tickle down the center and she arches her back and sticks her bum out.
Too Cute!

Pink Polka Dot Bikini

Last Saturday we all went to Governors Beach for a little dip in the ocean.
 Getting ready for the beach.
Ayla in her bathrobe and carseat, and Zuri with her new haircut.
Ayla seemed to really enjoy the water, Zuri not so much.  Zuri loved digging for treasure in the sand.
Everyone had a fun time.

Lounging in her sweatsuit

We had a day last week where it was a little rainy and a bit cooler than usual, so I decided it was probably cool enough for Ayla to wear her sweatsuit.  At least she will get where it once.  She sure looked cute, sitting on the couch all by herself.  She is getting so big.

Love Her!!

Since all of our visitors are gone.  I have had lots of time to relax, take it easy, and enjoy snuggling this little bug.  I also have lots of time to sit around and take a million pictures of this sweet thing while she just lays there wiggling her arms and legs.  I might be a tad bit obsessed with all the picture taking, but I simply can't help myself.  I want to document every minute so I won't forget a thing. In my opinion, life just doesn't get much better than this.

Turns out all this picture taken business put her right to sleep.  One minute she was wide awake posing beautifully and the next here she was peacefully asleep.

Papa Ko plays Puppet Ayla

Papa Ko discovered Ayla loves the demo music on our keyboard.  You start to play that music when she is really mad and crying and she will hush right up.  It is like magic, works every time!

Papa Ko and Grandma Connie

Grandma Lisa and Papa Jeff left on Sunday.  The following Monday and Tuesday we rested and recuperated because Papa Ko and Grandma Connie got into town Wednesday afternoon.  We had loads of fun with them over the Easter weekend and we are so glad they were able to come visit.   Wednesday evening we went to the grocery store to load up on food and then hung out at our apartment the rest of the night.
Thursday we started the day off right with brunch at the Ritz.  Haha.  I think we might be a little bit obsessed with that place.  We hung out there for most of the day.

We dipped Ayla's legs in the pool.

Then took her for a swim in the ocean. She got all the way in, except for her head.

She seemed to like it alright.

That night we went to pasta night at Grand Old House.
After dinner we got some cute family pics with the sunset.

After dinner we hit up TCBY for some delicious frozen yogurt, this became a regular occurrence, since we went there every night.

Friday we went to Smiths Cove Beach.
She sure is a cute little beach bum.
Easter Weekend is the only time of year where people are allowed to camp on the beach.  There were tents     covering all the beaches and unfortunately taking up a lot of the coveted shade. Luckily, we were still able to snag some so Ayla could stay cool and out of the sun.
That evening we took advantage of the full moon special and grabbed an 8 piece from Popeyes chicken for only $4.99!! That's the best deal on the island.  And then of course we HAD to get some TCBY.  When we got home we all showered and put Ayla to bed and played some cards. Golf was the game of choice and I was on a hot streak.  This also became a regular occurrence.

Saturday we took Papa Ko and Grandma Connie to see the stores where Chris works, we walked around and shopped in town. Then we drove up to Camana bay, we had lunch there, looked in some shops and went up to the top of the observation tower to see the views of the island.

This picture below is of one of the walls in the observation tower.  It is entirely made of tiny pieces of tile.  Papa Ko suggested I print it out and put it in a frame in Ayla's room because it is so colorful.  I think its a great idea. I just might do it.
Then we stopped at Smith Cove for a little snorkeling and rock jumping.
It was our week to clean the church building again so Chris and Kurt went to go pound it out and Connie and I stayed to take care of Ayla and make dinner.  When Ayla finally went to sleep we all played some more card games.

Easter Sunday!
Ayla was blessed on Easter Sunday.  She looked absolutely gorgeous in the dress Grandma Lisa made for her.  Which she received countless compliments on.  We got a few pictures in front of our church building on our way in.  I was planning on taking more after, but unfortunately Ayla and the weather did not cooperate with that idea.

Chris did a wonderful job blessing our child.  I am so grateful he is a worthy priesthood holder and that he was willing and able to exercise his authority to bless our daughter, Ayla Ocean Kohfeld.  Ayla did a wonderful job at being blessed and Papa Ko said she was awake and staring at her Daddy the entire time.

She fell asleep towards the end of sacrament and slept all through Sunday school and most of the 3rd hour.  Chris had taken her in with him to young mens but came tapping on the window with about 10 minutes left in relief society.  I walk out and he says, "We have a problem."  He is holding Ayla out away from his body and turns her slightly to show me her back side.  Oh man, she had the biggest blow out!  All over her beautiful dress, and we didn't even get to take all the pictures I wanted.  We both went into the bathroom to remove her clothes and wipe her down.  Then Chris rinsed out her slip, dress, and car seat.   Luckily, I was prepared and had packed an extra onesie just for this very reason, since this tends to happen more often than I would like to admit.
And bonus it was pouring rain, not ideal for picture taking. So two strikes against us.
Once home, we had a delicious Easter dinner.  We had ham, baked potato, cooked veggies, rolls and cantaloupe.
It was simple and divine.
That evening we played a final round of cards which Papa Ko took a questionable W.
Monday, Papa Ko and Grandma Connie drove over to Spotts beach for a quick snorkel with the turtles in the morning. After which Papa Ko reported he saw 3. When they got back we all went over to Govenors beach to play in the ocean.  Ayla kicked her feet in the sand and took a nice nap.  For lunch we hit up Wendy's and headed home so Papa Ko and Grandma Connie could shower and get ready to fly back to Utah.
We loved having them stay with us.  We missed the rest of our family back home, but were grateful Papa Ko and Grandma Connie could be here for Ayla's baby blessing and Easter.
Thanks for coming! See you in a couple months.
