Today is a Holiday here in Grand Cayman. Lucky us! We had a nice three day weekend together, the last one with just the two of us.
Today is Hero's Day, a day where they celebrate the local hero's here in Grand Cayman. Basically, I think they wanted an excuse to have another holiday in January. Nobody knows who the heroes are that we are supposed to be celebrating. But whateve's we aren't complaining!
We chose to celebrate by going to the turtle farm in West Bay. They were doing a 1/2 price day for local residents, and bonus the new water slide is open. There has been a lot of hype about this water slide. It is the only one on the island. I should have taken a picture of it. It is nothing compared to the slides at the water parks in Florida. Chris and I have been spoiled and those are the types of water slides we are use to.
Anyway, the turtle farm is actually pretty cool. Lots of turtles, all sizes from enormous to teeny tiny. They had an Aviary section with some cool birds. There was a crocodile and a shark exhibit, a little nature trail section, and of course the water slide and lagoon.
(hehe...headless parrot)
Enjoy this video with a great shot of the belly. 39 1/2 weeks, supposedly 3 days to go.
We are thinking she is going to be coming a bit late.
It was a good time.
