Sickies

The inevitable has happened, Ayla has gotten her 1st cold.  She has a runny, stuffy, sneezing nose and a cough.  Poor girl didn't sleep much the first night waking up every single hour all night long.  She usually sleeps with her mouth closed and breaths through her nose, but since her little nose was all stuffy making it hard to breath she kept waking up.  Poor Mommy.  It was a long night.  We called the Pedi to see if there was anything we could give her to clear up her nose so she could breathe and be able to sleep.  She recommended some saline nose drops.  They have worked wonders.  The next night she slept much better.  She hasn't had much of an appetite and nursing was difficult since she couldn't breath out of her nose so I would pump and give her a bottle.  The bottle worked a lot better.  She refuses to eat anything but cereal, and she will only eat it if daddy sings to her while she is eating.  Fickle baby.  After day Two with Ayla and the sickies Mommy caught the sickies too.  It has been pretty miserable.  Now we are on day four and Ayla seems to be on the mend and hopefully mommy will be there soon too.  We are just hoping Daddy's immune system is stronger and he doesn't get it.  He took a half day on Wednesday and Friday so he could be home to help take care of us.  Such a nice Daddy!  I am hoping by Monday Ayla and I will both be feeling like our normal healthy selves again. 

 

This contraption looks absolutely absurd and ridiculous and I WANT one!!
