Gramps

Be Thankful
Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to? Be thankful when you don’t know something
for it gives you the opportunity to learn. Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow. Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement. Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character. Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons. Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference. It is easy to be thankful for the good things.

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.  GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessing.

Last week my Gramps Fife passed away.  This has been pretty difficult for me.  I found it was easier not to talk about it or think about it, because if I did I would start crying, and if I started crying I had a difficult time stopping.  I have felt very homesick this week, and sad that I live so far away from home.  I miss my family.

I grateful for my grandfather and the wonderful man is was. I am grateful he was able to live a good long life.  He was 90 years old and had the opportunity to influence many lives for the better, including mine. I am grateful for all the memories I have of him.  I am grateful to know that he is in a better place and that I will be able to be with him again someday.

I Love You Gramps Fife!

Aubrey, I'm just reading your blog, which I seldom do for some unknown reason. It would be a good way to feel closer to both of you. I hadn't heard about the death of your Grandpa and I'm sending my condolences. I enjoyed your tribute. G-Ma Mary
