Christmas Day

Christmas Day was very relaxed.  First, we had a nice breakfast.

Ayla enjoyed her breakfast very much.

Then we carried on with my families Christmas tradition of giving gifts to Christ.  My dad prepared a really great message emphasizing the true meaning of Christmas.  There were many things he talked about that I loved.  He talked about how worldly gifts are "apologies" of gifts and that real gifts are gifts of oneself.  Gifts of service and charity and love are the types of gifts that can truly make others happy and in turn make us happy and please our father in heaven.  Then we each wrote a personal journal entry of what our gift to Christ would be that year.   This is something we did as kids growing up.  Christmas morning we didn't open of Gifts from Santa Claus.  Instead we would sleep in, have a huge breakfast, listen to my Dad share a special, spiritual Christmas message and write our gifts to Christ.  Then we would open up our presents from Santa Claus on Boxing Day, which is a holiday in Canada.    This year however, we did let Ayla open up her   presents on Christmas morning after we had breakfast, written our letters, and she had a morning nap.

(Jared picking his nose... hahaha)
Grandma Lisa and Papa Ko were skyped in also so they could watch her open her gifts and we could wish them Merry Christmas.

Ayla won't remember her First Christmas in Cayman but I certainly will!
